Well, We put it in, works great, no slips or hard shifts.. worth the 500 bucks.. We flushed out the fluid 3 times getting all the old fluid out.. seems to be really good so far... Hopefully I can get a few years out of it...

so, in retrospect you have to admit that it was not a 'mint condition' car....as a mint car would not require a new transmission immediatley after purchase

 

Right. The cars body, engine and interior are mint.. The tranny was another story. From the looks of it, the right rear tire was worn down considerably more than the other three so my guess is someone was doing brake stands and smoking the tires blowing the tranny up... Figures... Oh well it seems to be good now...

 

well, my question was/is who manufactures the transmission?
Mercedes certainly doesn't manufacture their own transmission...it's outsourced..to whom is my question...cliff

 

Well, i guess I dont completely understand your question as to whom manufactured this tranny.... It was a used rebuilt from a parts yard so where it was remanufactured and from who I have no idea...

 

why don't you just try to reset the computer as advised by ohlord? it most certainly worked on my 1990 300...no question there...

 

The PCM was reset on my car many times... the replacement tranny works great...
