just an update....still trying to dry it out before the console gets torn apart.

I have the same exact car and the same thing happened to me about 2 months ago..
The Dealer said that the "Shifter Assembly" was bad....replaced it and everything has been
fine since then...MBN Part# 210 267 05 24 Floor Shift $657 plus labor..

I hooked up the battery this AM & it now shifts and runs!!! AMEN. But the ESP & ABS lights are on. Wheres the module for these? they must be wet also?

You need to reset your steering angle sensor... Turn the steeringwheel "lock to lock" a couple of times and drive. That should clear the remaining fault.

it ok now!!! only thing left is to de-code the radio.

Radio code in the radio book or you need to call the dealer(any mb)
you will also need to resync your windows and sun roof.
And never leave the sunroof open in the rain again,okay....
It is pure luck that I got to you and had you disconnect the battery and use the cleaner and wait.Most cases people just try to drive and fry the module.You were lucky!!!!!
