StartUp Issue + Shaking
Dear All,
I hope that there is someone who may be able to help me with my problem.
I have a 230K CLK Coupe (1999).
Recently every morning after starting the car and driving it - I observe the following
Speed: 20mph Revs: 2500 - 3000
The car does not pick up even with my foot down, this goes own for about 5 - 6 minutes (the car did not wanna respond like it was choking or drowning & doesn't wanna move) and then it is fine, on idling the car shakes quite a bit.
If I switch off the engine during this period and restart - Everything is fine.
This occurs again, if I leave the car standing for 3 - 4 hours and restart.
Any suggestions?? Greatly appreciated ??
Regards
Sanjiv

Hi
Iwould think that it may be either the 'Air mass sensor' located in the air intake or the crankcase position sensor.
Both of these can give the symptoms that you have suggested with poor running and as inability to start or run properly together with the engine not revving over 2500 revs.... sound familiar?
Anyway good luck with that, I am afraid it is a trial and error swop to see which it is if you don't have the fault code checked with a dealer or Merc specialist.
Hope this helps
