Default SRS light

I have an'04 CLK500 that got soaked by water up to the rocker panels after a major thunderstorm. The car ran and drove fine after the water was "drained" and there were no computer issues. I brought it to my mechanic when the moisture level would not abate and the windows were fogging every night. He totally removed the interior to reveal all the soaked insulation and did a great job of drying it out to prevent any future issues. But now the SRS light is on and the diagnostic computer that he has says that the code for resetting it is locked out. Is this a dealer only reset?

Get to answer my own question here. The SRS is a dealer only reset because it requires a code that is proprietory to MB dealers only. Was a quick and painless process since there were no other problems that triggered it.

IF The Mechanic has a Good OBD 2 Scanner he should be able to clear stored codes The SDS aka Star Diag is the Dealer workshop tool for this
