Default oil in oxygen sensor

Merc benz garage says oil is in wiring loom of ecu. It reccommends that complete system should replaced at cost of 1600.00 GBP. Does anyone have any suggestions or should i start asking for donations?

what do they mean by complete system?
wiring harness? no need. it is useless not unless they replace the oil level sensor where the oil comes from. defective sealing and pressure pushes the oil to travel inside the wiring.
also check other parts that may be source of oil such as camshaft adjuster.

just clean the control unit and connectors with wurth electrical cleaner. do it again after a few hundred miles to totally clean it.

remember that you still need to replace the part which the oil tunnels through the wire.

without replacing it, the oil will keep coming up the control unit.
