Default New key options

I am wondering what the best/least expensive way to go about getting another key to me CLK 430. i bought the car knowing it only has one, and the red plastic is broke on the end. i don't know how serious of a problem this is, but i would like to get a new one, but of course want to try to get one and have it programmed for my car for as little money as possible. what are my options? ebay or salvage yard? how would i get it reprogrammed?

What i understand plz anyone correct me if i am wrong. Is that the only way to get a Mercedes key is from a Mercedes-Dealer. I know alot about these cars but have never gotten a straight answer about the key situtation. I had to order mine and it came from Germany and took two weeks but it was for a 1986 300sdl.

ok, i guess ill give the dealership a call. i always thought you can get the key cheaper somewhere else, and then have it programmed, but from what i have read, this can't be done. i guess ill give the stealership a call and see how much they are....maybe my 30 day warranty will cover it.... thanks, so far you are the only one who replies to my posts!
