Can anyone tell me the do's and donts for this car. Any ideas on better gas mileage and performance for a good price? Thanks

does that model have the C/S button? the C is comfort mode- starts off in second and shifts earlier in the rpms range...good for smoother ride and better mpg S is sport mode- shifts down to first and shifts later....good for passing showing off and all that good stuff i put K&N filters on mine and noticed a nice difference only cost me a little over a hundred bucks. if you wanna go further you could get an ECU upgraded that will lean out your fuel to air ratio giving you more power and better mpg cause your using less fuel but if you do that you MUST MUST MUST use high octane fuel or the long term might not be pretty.....hope that helps.....that is to the best of my knowledge i am by no stretch of the imagination an expert

funny story...i think....i was so excited about my new car i ordered them the day before i even drove the three and a half hours to the dealership to test drive it....they came in the next morning.....anyway i got them from Advanced Auto Parts if you can believe that....when we looked them up though they did not have them available.....so i got to thinking the CLK55 has pretty much the same motor as the CL55 less the kompressor and some valves so we gave it a shot and whamo the fit perfect....you might not have to worry about it with yours but thought i would let you know....not sure what year yours is but on mine to get to the filters you just pop the two front plastic covers of either side then disconnect the air intake pipes grab the middle cover and give it a good hard pull straight up.....just flip that over undo about four screws per side and your there........good luck

I have a 99 CLK 430. I saw on ebay 2 intakes for my car. One is a single intake with heat shield and the other has 2 intakes. Both for the clk. Which should i buy? Here is a link to both

they let more air in than the flat ones cause there is more surface area but if you have the flat ones too you will need to take them out....and i would say the double would be my pick
