Hi, I have a 2001 CLK 320.
When I kick down and the autobox drops a gear it accelerates away but then the box gives a jolt the gearbox goes out of drive for about 10 seconds, also sometimes (usually when the car is cold) the car will stay in drive and I will not be able to use the triptronic to go down the gears and it seems as if the box is stuck in a low gear, if I am on the motorway the revs will be high for a particular speed. The only way to solve this is to turn off the ignition which seems to reset everything back to normal. I hope someone can advise and help me with this. When I explained at the garage they said they could find nothing wrong (it only happens sometimes).

Hmmmm, thats an ecu/electrical CAN fault, if it were mechanical it would not go away and these model mercs are known for there electrical faults (god dont i know it!!!!)

I would strongly suggest you got it to a dealer or indi garage to check it out, it could be a few hundred to put right......or a couple of grand cos you left it....like i did!!!!!!
