i cant tell you about the 200 engine because i dont have experience with them. what ive seen from the manuals is good. only seen 1 that wouldnt go into gear. but here in USA there arent many manuals around they are all automatics. here in the US the slk have issues with water leaks and side window alignment, and water in the trunk.and also the peeling paint on the interiors.

hi chassis,
yes you are absolutelly right there, we in uk have same problem with interior and exterior trims. Specially external bodywork, corrosion appears from nowhere, the most common to place to find corrosion is on tail gate where the lock is and qourter panels??? makes you wonder expensive car with annoying extra thin layer of paint!.
One i am looking to purchase has solid roof so i dont think i have to wory too much about internal water leak.
Once again, thanks for your personal view on slk200, year 2000
you the star!
