Left Top Down in Rain now No start, code p0705
It finally happened, left convertible top down & had rain storm pass over.
Other than the obvious mopping up of interior surfaces there seemed little else affected. That is until I tried to start car....Nothing!...no turning over at all. checked battery connections, fuses, etc. all to no avail.
Calling the dealer was my next option but as last resort, I hooked up my OBDII tool ($80 @ harbor freight) & ran a scan...sure enough the p0705 code "prndl position sensor" appeared. Not sure but most likely water 'shorted' circut or something closely related. 10 mins. with wife's hair dryer & all's well, she started right up!....learned a valuable lesson & kept the car off the flatbed/dealer's service bay....hope this helps some unfortunate individual who may also be neglectful with top closing when skies threaten.....
