I'm thinking of buying a 2002 clk 430 convertible. It has the amg rims. Does that mean its a true amg? What other options would an amg come with?

 

A true AMG car will have AMG badgeing in the instument cluster area by the Tachometer and wil have AMG badging under the hood on the engine and engine cover. It might have amg package but wont actually be an AMG. the CLK's were badged CLK 55 when they are AMG's

 

the VIN # will have a 74 in the 6th and 7th spot that is an AMG model for you particular body style. 7 in the 6th spot and 4 in the 7th spot

 

The only true AMG is the CLK55. All the North American CLK430's come with the AMG rims and skirt package from the factory but the motor is the standard 4.3 litre V8.

 

CLK 430 isNOT AMG. TheONLY AMG model for CLK are CLK 55 AMG & CLK 63 AMG.
