Hello all BENZ lovers,

I have a new problem hopefully you could help. I'm sure this question has been answered before or has happened to someone else.

My issue, I went to pick something up the other day, when I went to start my car the key wouldn't turn. This is the first time this has happened. I own a CLK 320 2001, has only 54,423 miles.

I called roadside and they checked my battery everything ok. They did a dianostics and since I only have one key they told me either theEIS or I need a new key.

My question is, why didn't the computer show any error codes if it is the EIS? Is this coomon when this happens?

Any help will be appreciated, and if it's the EIS what am I looking at paying. I have an indy, just haven't been able to reach him yet.
