Folks I have a 2005 CLK (W209) which has developed a fault during the cold weather where the wipers/washer stalk controls have stopped working or work occasionaly.
The other functions on the stalk work fine (indicators/headlight flash/full beam) only the wiper/wash function is affected.
It's not the fuse as they will kick into life occasionaly and then nothing.
Can anyone shed any light on this issue as well as the following:

Can anyone shed any light on this issue as well as the following:
- Where is the relay and how do I identify it ?
- Can the STAR machine diagnose this fault ?
- What about the SAM module ?

I have the same problem on a 2004 CLK 240 Cabriolet. A new stalk is required, which costs around £90.00 from Mercedes. I looked on some salvage sites and they were quoting around £50.00 delivered. The only probelm being is how long will a second hand stalk last!!
