will 19" rims fit a 2002 CLK 430 AMG?

I recently purchased a set of 19" Merc AMG rims Et 44 and 46 and realized the hard way that they did not fit.

I added spacers and the rims stuck out too far, and without the spacers there was contact.

I'm confused how a different offset would actually make the wheel sit properly in the wheel well, but I really want to understand and make it work. I fell in love with the 19" look and want to find the right AMG set (19") for this car. I'm currently selling the set below, since they did not fit, and I need help locating the right fit AMG's.

Can someone please confirm if 19"s fit..if so, what offset, wheel size and where can i find them.
