Hi folks,
I'm new to the Forum, and a new Benz owner. I would like to replace both passenger side door speaker grillson my 2005 CLK320 Cabriolet, and don't know where to start. I'msomewhat mechanically inclined, but would much rather ask than mess up my door panel. It appears that the grills are installedwith the door panels off. If I have to remove the door panels,could someone providedirection on that as well.

after the panels off, you must melt the old speaker covers to get them off. then you are supposed to melt them back into place but you can use speed nuts to install them. you will see when you get the panel off what i mean. to remove panel 2 screws in door, under SRS badge and also one under door grab handle. then the 3 screws on the metal trim on the sides and then the door latch trim screw. you must pull up hard at the back then up after you pull out to unpop the door panel clips.

 

Is the procedure the same for a 2000? I need to replace the grille on the rear speaker on the driver's side door of a 2000 CLK320 convertible.

not sure from your post if yours are damaged and you want to replace them with similar OEM parts or aftermarket parts. the OEM parts are expensive about $60-70 each.
