hi i have a 2002 clk 430 and everytime i go into the car or sometimes i turn the key the car always has a 1 malfunction appearing in the screen. when i try to go threw the screen to see what the malfunction is, it goes to right back to 1 malfunction . no explanation. so i have no idea how to get rid of it. also i tryed holding R(reset) didnt work. if anyone knows what the problem is or this every happened to them it will be much aprreciated. thanks in advance

yes i scrolled down to see what it was , usually it does tell u but it doesnt say nothing except one malfuncton and no explanation? i dont think its the battery because its been there for about 3-4 months and i havent realli payed much attention but my wife it getting annoyed.

 

then it must be the battery control module sending out the message.

it detects the low current/voltage and will shut off the consumers in two stages if necessary.

if we will read the fault code, it will usually say "ignore this fault if there is no customer related complaints".

 

so what should i do now? do u think a local machanic can fix this or i will have to bring it to mercedes.

 

better take it to the workshop and check for the fault code stored in memory.

I will bet you that the 1 MALFUNCTION you see is due to the fact that you do not have the phone activated - I have the same message and when you scoll through the functions to find the malfunction, that is what comes up. hth.
