2001 CLK 320 Starting problem, extremely slow exceleration at times
My 2001 CLK 320 has problems starting, sometimes taking up to 20 tries. This morning it wouldn't start at all. It also will sometimes go into a mode where it accelerates very slowly , it gets up to speed once it does kick in but if you take your foot off the gas, you are starting all over again with the acceleration. I bought a fuel pump but now am doubting my choice. I don't believe a fuel pump, or filter will fix this. After reading I am thinking TPS or Crankshaft sensor. Could it be the computer? It seems to help if I disconnect the battery for a couple minutes. Oh,and sometimes the acceleration thing will happen when I am driving , and if it is doing the hesitation on acceleration thing while driving, I can usually turn it off and start it again and it goes away I know that sounds odd. Help!

Hello and welcome to the forum! The first thing that I'd suggest is that have the codes pulled. This should give you a fairly good idea where the issue(s) are coming from. Make sure to use a Mercedes specific tool and not a generic OBDII reader - an indy MB shop or the dealer can do this for you if you don't own a scan tool. Let us know if you have any other questions or if we can assist with any part needs in the future.
