I have succumbed to desire for a mercedes convertible. I have locate the three models above all with less than 30K miles. The 55 is hard to resist. Is there any reason I should avoid it in favor of the more mainstream choices? Has anyone had a good experience with an aftermarket extended warranty?

Good evening. While I do not have the re-sale knowledge to assist...I do like your choice of vehicles. Having just replaced my '06 S430 with an '08 CLK550Cab [see the photo gallery], depending on your driving needs- and if gas is an issue, I'd say to go with the 320 or the55. I toonever had a rag-top, but am loving it !!The 550 is fast- real fast, butcan bethirsty. Not being too selfish, I opted for the CLK [not an SL] somy 9 year-old could also share in the fun.

I am really torn by this decision. The AMG clk 55 has a rediculous amount of power but it is sooo sweet. I worry about maintenance and repair. My salesman told me they only sold 250 of these in US in 2005. I can just see the dollar sign in the repair shop eyes when I roll in. Sometimes you have to go for the fence though.
