Default A few CL600 quickies.....

Firstly, Hi I'm new to the forum.

I've been given the task of selling my Dads CL600 and want to make sure it's in top spec before doing so. It's a 2000/2001 CL600.

I wonder if you could help with these few queries:

* The drivers side unlock button on the door handle doesn't lock the car after you've closed the door. It will unlock the car, but not lock it. Everything else on the door seems to work fine.

* SOLVED - The car has just been serviced and has only done about 5-10 miles since, but has been sat unused for 2-3 weeks. I started it the other day to clean it and the interior lights dimmed as it started and then ran a little lumpily fluctuating around the normal idle if revved. The maintenance warning light came on as well. I moved the car, cleaned it, started it again afterwards and it ran very smoothly as normal. Is there a way to find out what the issue is without an error reader? I'm wondering if the battery was low (I've since put it on charge and is showing as less than 50% full) and might have caused an issue? Or Mass airflow sensor?

* Can I perform an ECU reset by disconnecting the battery for a few hours? If so, am I going to need do anything once plugged back in? i.e. radio security number, suspension settings etc?

* SOLVED Are there any know issues with the overhead reading lights? I haven't checked the fuses yet, but neither work when pressed. Do the headlights have to be on for them to work?

* There seems to be some rust bubbles forming infront of the rear wheels...I thought these cars didn't rust?

Thanks in advance for your help

OK after much reading I think I'll do an ECU reset and fuse check tonight.

Think I've got the procedure right; disconnect postive, negative, touch together 15 secs, reconnect negative first...
