Worn bushings?

Worn bushings?
I recently went in to the dealer for a Service B (60,000 miles) on my 2004 C240 and the dealer mentioned I had a worn bushing on my front left trust bar (?). I don't know if this is the same name for the lower strut bars with the control arms. Either way, is this a common failure point for similar Mercedes models? I have heard that this can run upwards of $400 to fix including the labor. Now I hear a small grinding noise when I drive but I can't tell where in the car it's coming from, could it be related??

RE: Worn bushings?
Hard to say. But I was told on another Board The MBCA that the W202 did have bushings problem, and they wear quickly. There is a possibility the noise is from the new bushings, especially if it wasn't there before. I would take it back ASAP, as the work is guaranteed.

RE: Worn bushings?
I'm not sure this is going to help you but here's my experience: When my 2001 C240 still had about 30K mi on it, and after an overzealous valet got a hold of it one night in a parking lot with very high speed bumps, the dealership had to replace my "liquid filled" bushings in the front on my next visit. It was still under factory warranty with no charge to me. My solution: I don't valet anymore or let anyone else drive my car.

liquid filled?
i didn't work out because thrust arms requires all directional movements so they did a service measure to replace it without the oil filled type.
that technology didn't lasts for a year.
only your engine mounting support is the remaining oil filled damper now. this too will leak. normally within 1 to 2 years.
