windows roll down when I shift to reverse! C280
It's crazy but lately 90% of the time when I put my 1999 C280 automatic gear shift lever in reverse, my drivers side front and rear windows mysteriously roll down!
The gear shift lever is situated in the center console between the window control buttons, but from a picture I saw of each module, it doesn't look like they share the same module. So... maybe there are two wires (one from each module) with insulation chafing causing an intermittent short?
Before I tear into the center console, has anyone here seen this problem before or has ideas about a fix??
Thanks!
Andy

- PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE SOLVED -
The day after I posted my original message I decided to synchronize the power windows even though no problem was indicated. I've now tested the windows over the last 5 days at least 50 times and so far no more problems. That's impressive because before, the problem occurred every 1-3 times I put it in reverse. Doesn't make sense to me why that fixed it, or why putting it in reverse caused such a problem in the first place, but what do I care. I'll post again only if this was some weird coincidence and the problem returns.
