Default Sticky parking brake release!

2005 C230

When I pull the park brake release the brake will sometimes come up and of course the parking brake light goes off. However more and more often the pedal will not release fully upward unless I give it a tap upward with my toe. Is there a way to fix this issue so that it pops up fully when I pull the release handle? The car has like new brake pads front and rear.

Hello - you likely have to have the parking brake wires adjusted - shouldn't be a big issue. The brake pads are not associated with the e-brake.

I've already adjusted the wires under the back seat. Is there a way to adjust the release spring where the pedal is located?

Take a look at the link below to an earlier thread where this is discussed - there is a procedure guide as well. Seems that this was a common issue with the W203 platform. Hope this helps you a bit.
