Steering wheel centre bolt

RE: Steering wheel centre bolt
On a US RHD car, I turned anti clockwise. I did this just this weekend to replace my cruise stalk so memory is still fresh. Do not force against the lock tumbler as it is alleged that it will be damaged so you might request the help of a few mates.

I did this a month ago, also to replace the cruise stalk. I used a 10mm allen key that was 3/8 inch drive, then a 3/8 to 1/2 adapter, and then a 24 inch 1/2 inch drive breaker bar. I was in the car holding the wheel to keep it from putting stress on the wheel lock, and my daughter from outside the car put about 150 pounds of down force to break it free. Be careful with the airbag connector (I disconnected the battery for 15 minutes prior to touching it) and and the clockspring.

Thanks. Do I need to allign the 2 holes to access the screw to remove this plastic cover to try remove the Cruise Control Switch. I may have damage that swicth when removing the whole front dash. Do you have a part number for this?
Finally that wiring how to access?

To get the clockspring cover off, you have to line up the two holes with the screws under them. THe default for this is to have the steering wheel straight ahead. I had to put the whell on the shaft and turn it to line it up. Witht he two screws it just pulls straight off. The wiring runs into the colum. out the right side, and connects next to the ignition switch.

The wiring seem to be enclosed in a kind of big black plastic conduit, which lead down to the leg pedastal. Do i need to remove the conduit? Is there a way to remove some of those wiring to get to some of the damaged wiring?
