Default SRS light

My SRS light comes on occasionally. I noticed when someone sits in the passengers seat the light goes off. Sometimes it goes on at start-up and stays on awhile and then i notice it goes off five or ten minutes later. Any ideas?

Same Problem on my C220 CDI - W203, MB diagnosed it as an intermittent connection in the plug that goes to the seat belt buckle from the wiring harness (they said the connector and harness is under the passenger seat), it showed up on the diagnostics as "high resistence" in the plug.
price quoted by MB £25.50 for the part, about £120.00 labour to fit it. It may have the same plug under the drivers seat, I am going to unplug mine and check and clean the connectors in the plug (if it can be done ) !!

Hope this helps

I got the same problem. SRS light came on and sent my car to the MB dealer, they said it's the sensor in the seat belt buckle malfunctioningand it needs to be replaced ($410 total!! OUCH!)

mine came on recently and it was the red harness under the front passenger side seat. i believe its the harness that plugs the pass side sensor into the system. turns out one of the prongs was pushed back into the harness and wasn't makign an electrical connection. i unscrewed the strip the harnes is mounted to under the seat and worked the prong back into place. my light went off.

I had the same as brudd. I got the seat sensor replaced at a cost of around £140 for the part. It involves taking the seat out and removing the leather but it has sorted the problem.

Did the changing of seat sensor interrupt with the seat heater or is it still fully working?

The heated seat worked whilst I had the issue and after the sensor was replaced.
