Default Serious Engine Problems

Hi. I'm Raymond.
I have a 1995 C280 MB. My car started to turn off while it was running. The starter will work, but the car will not start, until fifteen minutes after it turned off. The car did that two times. At the third time the car never started. There is no spark in the spark plugs. I don’t have any idea of what it is and don’t have time for technicians. Have somebody had this kind of problem?

I had the same thing on our '99 c280. the 'L5' sensor is located on the engine block between the aft side of the left cyl head and the firewall at about the 11 o'clock position. 1 connector and 1 bolt. the manual says to have the new sensor 'initialized' with the star tester after installation, but i don't know if that is true. i did disconnect the connector and clean it 1st, but it left my wife stranded one 2 many times and we had it towed to the dealer for them to replace. starts every time now...

*check for code P0335 with a HHT.

*see if the sensor attach bolt is tight

*check the connector (pull up gently, it should be held tightly by plastic clips on the sides) then push down to ensure good contact.

*the wiring should not be contacting the firewall. if it is, check for chaffing and repair / reposition wires.

**u can wait until it fails again and tap on the sensor and/or jiggle the wiring to pinpoint the problem but i would have it fixed before it leaves u stranded at the wrong place or the wrong time (when is the right time?).

finally, unless you are really comfortable with a multimeter, this car is far too expensive to diagnose faults with the 'shotgun' parts replacement approach. but feel free to reply if u want the sensor's voltage and resistance values.

First if your car is not starting you need to take it to a mechanic. lol

Second, if it starts after being on for a while could it be flooded? Don't know if that model can be, but maybe.

Could it be overheated?
