Default Rear brakes problems

I recently had my rear brake pads changed on my '94 C280 (W202). The mechanic was testing them and noticed that they were not working. No fluid was being pumped through. He traced the brake lines on both the left and right side of the car back to the ABS system under the hood. He cracked the front line and fluid came out, but when he cracked the rear line no fluid came out.

Is there a chance that this unit has to be reset? Is there any way to test the unit? My front brakes work fine, but I do notice in colder weather my brake pedals seems a lot less stiff than normal.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

What do you mean by CRACKED THE LINE?
It could be the flexible hoses that connect the metal brake pipes to the rear wheel brake cylinders.
They are known to get blocked with age.
Test for brake fluid flow before it enters the hose and after to see if this is the case.

By Cracked the Line I mean to say he opened the line, looking for fluid. He checked at the rear brakes and then at the ABS system.
