radio removal 2006

RE: radio removal 2006
i just got an 06 350 and i want to add a little bit to the radio myself, adding some subwoofers and change the door speakers and throw in a few amps. but for your situation, you need to remove the a/c area and the area with heated seats/esp/locks/tow etc first using a panel upholstery tool. becareful not to scratch the trim. i would recommend wraping the forked end of the tool with a sock or some thin cotton/fabric. simply pry up and out VERY gently around all the edges. after you remove the upper and lower section, youll be able to remove the radio and into the aux ports in the rear. good luck!

the center air nozzle got two screws. tilt them fully up and you will see on the lower outer edge. unscrew them, then tilt them fully downwards and you will see a catch lugs on the outer edges. press them down with a flat screwdriver...while gently pulling them out. difficult for first timer, but very easy the second time.
omce the center air nozzle is out, you can now see two screws for the switches. remove them.
now pull up the cover on shift lever. no screws on it unless you screw it up.
you will see two screws/catch lugs on lower edge, press or remove them ...remove the ashtray housing.
remove the a/c control unit, and then the radio.
have fun.
