When I first purchased my '03 C240 I heard a clicking sound when I pressed down on the parking brake (perhaps the sound of the cable engaging?) Now the parking brake makes no noise when depressed and I can push the pedal down further than before. The brake also doesn't seem to hold as well.

Do I need a new parking brake?

 

i would check for a loose cable first before making that decision
