oil changing question?

Default oil changing question?

i want to replace the oil on my 2002 c230k mi question is can i take the oil out by unscruwing a bolt in the oil pan or do a need a special pumping tool to pump it out?

You should have both options if it is similar to my C240. I know the dealers suck the oil out thru the dipstick hole. I remove the plastic pan and drain my oil the old fashion way via the drain plug. I believe there are about six bolts holding the plastic pan. It is pretty quick and painless and will save you a ton of $$ to DIY. You can do some searches to give you the details you will need to remove and change the filter, reset the service indicator, etc.

not all dealerships suck it out through the dipstick. we have the machine but usually drain it. u should have a 111 motor in that vehicle. when facing the vehicle there should be a plastic cover to the front right going around the dipstck. pull up on this and pop it off. the filter is under there. dont forget to replace the crush washer on the drain plug. its takes 5.8 quarts.
