New prospective MB owner looking to purchase a C240
Hi,
I'm looking to purchase a 03 C240 with 17k miles (for my wife). I have never owned a MB so I would like some guidance on how to evaluate a car and what to expect. I come mostly from Honda/Toyota backround and decently mechanical savvy but don't have exp. with MB's. I understand that MB's can have electrical issues, and I've noticed on some reviews that some people say the car stink in reliability, and others have said it's nothing but the best..
I will be looking at a car later today. In fact, it is this car here: http://tinyurl.com/2mrwx3
Any thoughts or suggestions on what kind of things to look for? Also, what are the best companies to purchase extended warranties from?
Thanks in advance.

I will let others with experience with that exact year and model comment. I do know that that age group seems to be the focus of most of the C Class problems\dissatisfaction that you find all over the internet.
I have a '06 C230 Sport. There have been exactly zero issues in 19 months and 10k miles so far. Nothing.
I recognize the low miles but this car seems a tad pricey to me?

Thanks. I took a look at the car and.. it was not in the condition it was described. Actually it had 2k+ more miles on it and it was very dirty! The person at the dealership said that the owners wife used it! For 2k+ miles!! And, he wouldn't budge on the price.
Anyway, I'll pass... If someone knows of a good one in the Seattle area, let me know.
