New Battery causing drain in power
Hi - new to the forum. My 02 C320 is draining power from my new battery. What I did is replace the battery and it died on me in a few days. I have pinpointed the power drain being caused from my
navigation system (only radio) and the largest drain in power is from the driver & passenger power seats. So what I did at this point is full the fuse for the navigation & power seats and now my car works, but no radio & no power seats. I also have a message on my dash for SOS & SRS. Is this caused from the battery? How do I fix this?
Also, do I need to get something changed on my power seat? Is it under the chair or door? How much will this cost? Do I need to take to dealer? Sorry for so many questions, any help will be great.
Thanks,

RE: New Battery causing drain in power
your car has a campaign about the front seat control modules. they are under the seat if they have part numbers that beginswith 203 then they need to be replaced if they have a 211 number at the beginning then they are ok and dont need replacement. the control modules will have like 5 or 6 colored connectors plugged into them if you look under the seat from the back of the seat you will see the control units. the part numbers should be visible on the top of the control unit.

Thanks, can I purchase this at any part store or it has to be from the dealer? The dealer says the part costs about $285. Is it easy for me to replace, or do you know if I can get instructions on how to replace this? I also called the dealer about the SOS & SRS and they said it would cost me about $100 to fix this. (1/2 hour to reset each problem)

you can install yourself without taking out the seats but it is tight to do. the control unit is sort of clipped onto the seatframe but unclip and then you should be able to pull out connectors. the module needs to be progrmed for certain optoins that your car has, heated seats, powerseats, airbags etc. if you dont get it coded the seat might not operate correctly, only the dealer can code the new module for you. did you have the 203#'s on the control units??
