New '12 C300- Mods and Questions
 

I've been drooling over the Facelift C300 since it first came out in 2012, and I finally gathered enough to go out and buy one yesterday evening. Had it checked out by a trusted local auto shop, and it gave me a clean code scan except for one:

U016800: Something about a Malfunction with the Electric Ignition.


Should I be worried? What does this mean? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new ride! I believe that fault code could be associated with the ignition switch; if so, I'm attaching a DIY tech article from our site on how to address it. Is there car still under warranty? Please let us know if you have any questions!

Hey, thanks for the response!

The car is unfortunately not in warranty. I've put about 300+ miles within the past 48 hours, and I don't think I've had any issues at all. I'm happy that I took it to my mechanic, thankfully everything else came out clear.

I did some research and I think I should be okay. I'll ride it out until I'm forced to fix it, lol.
