Default New (05) C-320 Transmission Question

Just purchased a 05 C-320 and wondering if anyone else is experiencing shifting lag/hesitation (low speeds) between 2nd and 3rd gear? The dealership acknowledges the issue and states the "system" will eventually correct itself as a result of my driving habits???? Why doesn't the car come out of the box correctly?

Any thoughts?

Thanks

they should at least reset the adaptation and re-adapt it.

it won't adapt to your driving style anymore because it was not resetted. it can only remember the driving style of the person who road test it or drive it to/from shipment.

Thanks Sleepwalker. I forgot to mention the dealership did indeed reset the adaptation. I guess the question is will the hesitation/lag actually disappear?

Again, thanks!

yes...if no other internal problems such as the filling time of the clutch, torque slip, etc.

if it's just a minor problem, then give it time till all the data for adaptation are completed, and then let them read it.

just hope that the solenoid valve for the 2-3 is not leaky.

Sleepwalker is correct it takes a while for the transmission in these cars to adapt to your driving style.

Default New (05) C-320 Transmission Question

Yes.. I am having the same issue with my 05 C230... The car has been to the dealer a couple of times and each time they tell me its the adaptive transmission that has learned my driving style. However, they also told me that nothing can be reset. I think thats just BS...
Can someone (sleepwalker) truly confirm that there is a reset procedure for our cars? My car also lags/hesitatates to upshift or downshift when I need it (at least not quick enough), and I have to resort to the manual stick mode.... What lingo can I use at the dealer to have them understand the issue... They do acknowledge that the loaner cars (exact car as mine) are much peppier and shift quicker, but they also claim that they are driven harder by customers while their cars are in for service... Any help would be great!

the adaptation process must be done witht he technician since we have to control the engine torque and engine rpm. we have a torque value table to follow.
we have to see the shift target and actual gear. must attach a computer to the car to do this.
