H&R springs are your best bet. Last price I saw was around $200 from K1 Motorsport or you could use Tire Rack and get them for $264. It'll drop it down 1.3" in the rear and 1.4" up front. Also, check what size ride shims came from the factory. They vary from 8-23mm and sit at the top of the shock. They are an MB factory part and you should be able to order thinner shims depending on the size of what's already on your car from a dealer if you want it a little lower than what the H&R's will give you. Or if you don't want to go as low as the H&R's just get new shims. I would recommend that when you lower it you look into new anti-sway bars as well. H&R also carries a set for MB C230SS. They are considerable stiffer than stock and will compliment the springs in terms of handling and performance unless all you're really going for is looks, then just get the springs. The sway bars range from $220 rear to $254-$269 for fronts. Unless you plan on racing autocross I would stay away from coil-overs. I know people swear by them but the ride with CO's sucks and they're honestly a waste of money if you aren't racing. Just my $.02, hope it helps.

Wow, I sure would not want mine to be ANY lower! - not to mention 1.3 inches lower.

if you replace the springs you should replace the shocks too, which will lower it more and compliment the springs.

no mo- i hear you! I'm just delivering knowledge man. I thought about putting the H&R's on mine until today. Once I got the new wheels on there I think it looks smooth just like it sits. I am going to upgrade the sway bars though.

snead-shocks aren't really a necessity unless you go with an extreme lowering spring (more than 2" drop) but if the shocks are old I completely agree that that would be the time to change them.

no mo- Funny you should ask that. They'll be going back on my car today until I can get another set of wheels in and installed. The MAAS wheels ended up requiring a 6mm spacer and after 3 tries to balance them I still get headshake in the steering wheel. I have a set of Mandrus Regenmeister's on order now that, according to the tech[X(], will mount up as they should w/o any spacers required. Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure they will[:@], just like the other tech said the MAAS wheels would. I'm hoping they'll be here by Friday and I'll know whether or not they really fit. Until I can get them here and installed and road tested I'll have to use my factory wheels, but[], if they fit right and balance out properly I may be in the market to get rid of the factory wheels. The rubber on them won't even have 2K miles and there are no blems or scratches, they're perfect(watch me just jinx myself and curb it tonight[:'(]). If you think you might be interested let me know and we can work something out.

I've seen too many customers buy springs and buy coilovers few months later. My answer is 'go with coilovers'.

RJ,
What is the rubber on the '07 wheels. My '06 has Michelin Pilot Primacy which is a pretty groovy tire. The tires will figure into the equation.

Thanks
