Long Crank Time When Engine is Warm (2000 C230K)
Does anyone know what the issue is when you have a long crank time only when the engine is warm? I am thinking its a pressure issue or im in need of a fuel filter change. Does anyone have a diagram for fuel filter replacement and location of the two fuel filters on this car?

Got kinda the same thing going on. I have been doin some homework on the prob, and so far what I have come up with is one of a few things (since the problem is not really one that kills the driving of the car it hard to track down the prob), I replaced my MAS and that did'nt help, though I got my WOT back and no more random misfire CEL codes. The next thing I was lookin at was the fuel filters, possibly the FPR (though I gotta feelin I will try the filters first), and I was going to take a look at the plugs today and see if drivin for 20k with a bad MAS carboned the up. My father has a 2000 MML320 with simular probs and he was told that when he changed his MAS that if he didn't replace his cat that he would be replaceing the air sensor again soon. Apparently the there is a system in the car that pipes some gasses back to be burnt if your cat is going bad (though I havnt heard or proven any of this yet). As always do the $imple$t and more co$t effective thigs first.

I am also having the same problem with my 99c230 Kompressor. Starts great cold (immediattely) but when it is warm 50% of the time starts in 1-3 seconds. The other 50% of the time the engine cranks for over 5 seconds, sometimes up tp 7-10 seconds to start. I have had it parked since I do not want to do any damage. I just bought a MAF sensor and will let you know my results. Please let me know if you guys find the cure.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Crank Angle Sensor or Cam Angle Sensor
After speaking with several Indys I think i have the problem (at least with this model C Class) deduced to one of two things: The Crank Angle Sensor or the CAM angle sensor. My Indy tells me that 9/10 times when the car acts like this when hot it is the crank angle sensor. Unfortunately i heard it was a pain in the *** diy project because the Crank AS is located in a hard to reach location. Here is a link for replacing the C43 Crank AS but it does us no good for the 2.3L engine....it looks really easy on the V8...Does anyone have a step by step for our model engine? (99-01 C230K)
