Default Key help

Hi all,

This is my first post and im new here.

My problem is i have a 1996 C class 220 classic mercedes which i got about 6 months ago. All has been working fine untill yesterday when the green and red lights on the drivers door and Rear view door where flashing. It would unlock and lock but would not disable the alarm and allow me to start the car. I changed the batteries but i took the batteries out for a few hours while i changed them now. With the new batteries in it the key doesnt seem to work at all and with the old battieies. When i hold the button in there is a light on the led that flashes once.

Any Ideas on what i need to do?

Thanks in advance for all you info

Default key fob help try this

Changed my batteries CR 2025 on both key fobs (took only a minute or so) Big mistake!!

Initially remote worked but after a few uses red and green lights on door and rear view mirror flashed rapidly, doors opened but car would not start (immobiliser still set), locking and unlocking did not cure the problem, following instructions in handbook for re synchronising key fob had no effect, I found this fix somewhere on the internet,

disconnect main battery for 15 mins place key in ignition and turn on, re connect battery wait for 5 minutes turn off ignition use key fob to turn alarm on then off (red and green lights should work normally) car started. However this fix lasts intermittently sometimes for 2 or 3 days sometimes only for hours, any ideas anyone
