Hey guys,
Just wanted to let you know that quite possibly the easiest and most effective upgrade I can imagine is installing an aftermarket grille for my 98 C280. It only took a few minutes, and it really helps to dress up the look of the car. Just pull out the eight bolts that hold it in place, then pull out the grille. Pop in the new one and you're done. If anybody is thinking about it, I would surely recommend doing it.

 

Of course I know many of you are already aware this simple job. I really posted this for the new guys like me. By the way I got the grille from a Mercedes dealer of Ebay for $100 including shipping.

 

I installed a STAR grille a couple of years ago and a flat emblem, your correct it makes a world of difference.

 

Which grill? What does it look like? How much? Where did you get it from?

this one I got it on Ebay for $125 also comes in Black that is no chrome strips but a chrome STAR.

Hey, great looking C280. Tell me, where did you get your grille and flat hood emblem. I am brand new to this whole thing - I just bought a 2000 C280. 59000 miles.

dont get a grill like wizard just get the more modern w210 (i beleive) grill which is the one with all chrome strips. in my oppinion.

No offense taken, I have this grille also, in the garage. I changed it out for the Star and the flat hood emblem.

 

Your Star grille is chromed, isn't it? Or Stainless? Looks like it to me.

I'm not sure what C280's point is. You can get either a Star or non-Star grille, but both are chromed, or "polished."

 

Could you tell us where you bought the grille? How about the flat emblem for the hood? Thanks. BTW, did you have to epoxy the emblem on the hood?
