but I have done "the search the threads" thing to no avail. I have just acquired a 2003 C230k. This is my first MB, itis a great car, low miles 31K on the odometer, drivenby a little not so old lady.
Question: I have read the Ipod interface procedures, but the commonality of this is they describe this operation for a 2006 C class. My '03 has the stock changer in the glove box, so is there a way to replace it with the Ipod?? Can I interface the Ipod without have to resort to the lighter plug FM modulator do-hicky.

The MB integrating iPod kits you are referring to will only work in car's with MOST wiring. Your C-class still has the D2B fiber ring... MB iPod kit isn't compatible in your car.

You may want to look for an aftermarket solution then. I know Dension has (or used to have?) some iPod kits that would work in MB models with D2B wiring.

You can either get the $400 kit that replaces the CD changer, or that amount of money will buy a lot of aftermarket radio. Including something from this century that uses SD cards instead of non-MP3 CDs. I went with a Blaupunkt Brisbane: no CD player, just an SD slot.

 

I would like to keep the stock look to the dash, so aftermarket head units are out. What is this kit you are refering to "Defiant". Is this the same D2B wiring kit BigSis has mentioned.
