2007 C230 Sport, Automatic

I recently purchased the 2007 C230 Sport. I noticed that my driver side fog light was not working. So, I jacked the car up and removed the plastic molding to gain access to the bulb from underneath the bumper. When I pulled the flap back, I noticed that the wire that connected to the bulb was not there. The entire wire is missing. I cannot locate it. I can see the plastic brackets that the wire feeds through, but the wire is not there.

I took the other side apart and the wire is securely connected to the bulb. Does anyone know what I need to do to locate the wire? I checked for about an hour this evening, and I can't find it. I took the plastic belly pan off to see if it was underneath it, and it was not. Any help will be appreciated.

 

usually runs down from the headlights. theres a wire someplace. either cut off of pinched in the bumper someplace. been to the shop recently or a body shop?
