The time interval between "A" and "B" services is the same15000km or approx. 10000 mi
No point in doing anything in between. My BMW interval is 25000km or approx 15000 mi

Yes, these synthetic oils can go a lot longer than the stuff we were used to years ago. That "3 months or 3,000 miles"
mantra is still ringing in my ears from my father. I'll never get that out of my head! []

Just be sure and be very clear about what they are going to include on the Service B and what they will NOT just do
because the car is in their hands. And if the shop doesn't know how to reset the indicator, or if you don't know, I'll post
or send that to you.
mrcoyote, "hideous" is the right word for the price tag associated with Service B, at least at the dealer where I took my 2004 C240 yesterday. I suspect they overcharged me big time, one thing is obvious, I don't know of any car that take 9 qts of oil, but that's what they claim on the bill they put into mine. The total cost was $505. A few towns over the dealer would have charged $165 less. Of course they gave me a loaner, whose price must be buried into the cost. I do not plan on taking the car to a dealer again. I saw some place on the net the reset instructions posted, so I will print them out and keep them in the glove compartment box for the next service.

Cheaper is usually not a better option, especially when it comes to your car. I have had so many problems with other places that now that I bought my new car, I will only take it to the dealer. My last cars engine blew because the place where I was taking it to be serviced never checked for oil build up and leaks. So the engine eventually just died without any warning. Just be careful who works on your car if you want it to keep running.
