Engine light has come on during snow
Hi Folks,
I've been the owner of a '05 C200 for about 4 months now.
We've recently had some snow here, and during the snow, the amber Engine light has come on, on the dashboard.
Could this have been caused by the snow? (Emissions etc)
If I leave it will it go away again, or am I best taking it to a Mercedes mechanic anyway?
Cheers!
Steve.

I don't know why snow would trigger a check engine light, but I guess anything is possible.
But not likely. I would have somebody plug in an OBD II scanner and see what codes come up. This can be done at a shop, usually for a small diagnostic fee, or at an auto parts place, usually for no charge since they want to sell you parts there. Up to you. Some would say that a Mercedes dealership has the better diagnostic capability for these cars. It could be argued either way. Good luck.
