Default Electrical problem ???

I recently went on a trip with my c200. The trip was 1000 kms (500km to destination and same distance back). The weather was hot so my AC was on throughout the trip. After the first 400kms my windscreen wash began spraying on its own. It would not stop so I disconnected the power to the pump. I completed the remaining 100 kms to my destination. On turning off the engine the cooling fan came on and run at high speed. It did not go off for a bout 1 hour. When I turned on the engine it went off but came back on when I turned off the engine. I removed a fuse to turn it off. The car did NOT overheat during the trip. When I returned the fuse several hours later and reconnected the windscreen wash pump all appeared to be well. I made the 500km trip back with no further incident. I have had the same behavior with the cooling fan once before. Does anyone have similar experience and what turned out to be the problem?
