the digital clock and gear selection has lines going threw it and also has parts of it cut out so it doesnt read clearly. Has anyone ever had this before?

 

I have this problem as well, but it's only accross the top and bottom of the LCD display. It seems to fade in and out,depending on the heat. I have never looked into the real reason, but you are not alone, I know that much.
