Dealership just quoted $405 for plugs in a C230K

At the MB dealership in town here, the Service Advisor is the first person you can see in the shop. You can't go directly to a tech and
start bargaining the job. So, my original post was that the dealership (the service advisor) quoted me that price. I did not go for it, obviously, and did the job myself. All the work done there is looked up by him on his computer in front of him, parts and labor for any particular job.
But I understand what you are saying. That's just the way they do it at this dealership.

I have no idea why I can see the pics in my gallery and nobody else can. No idea. Anyway, if there are people who want me to recap the steps to put plugs in the C230K, I'd be happy to. It's really easy, you only need a few tools and a little time. Let me know if anybody cares to hear the steps again. I'll try to make it brief and simple.

People may disagree with me on this one, but I read a bit before I chose the factory replacement iridium plugs to go with.
Twelve bucks a plug, they last a long time, you DO NOT GAP THEM, and you can get them online, no tax and free shipping if
you want. Auto parts stores and web sites will show a ton of different plugs that "will work". I myself wouldn't do it after reading
up on some of the results people had with them. Now, I know people are going to say they used the "titanium uranium plutonium
zircon multi-electrode plug" and they love them. Again, this is what I did and I'm glad I stuck with the factory plugs. The mileage
went up a teeny bit over the worn spark plugs as well.

Mrcoyote,
I took your info on removing and replacing the spark plugs. You we right on the money. My problem is this:My 2003 C230 was misfiring and with 85000, I figured it was time to replace the plugs. The check engine light also came on. I found out that there was an error (o2 sensor near the catalitic converter and cylinders 1,2 and 3 were misfiring). I replaced the sensor but the light is still on and the car still idles rough. During the replacement, I started my car to heat the exhaust to help get the sensor looose. I also had the plug to the sensor disconected at the time.
Does the computer need to be reset to determine if the problem is actually fixed?
Does the fact that I had the unit was unplugged while the engine was running affect the way the car runs now?
Will the computer reset it self after a while?
Is there a way to reset the computer without a reader machine?
I appreciate your help and look forward to any responses anyone can help me with.
Tom

Tom>since I am not a Mercedes tech, I'm going to pass on this one and refer you to somebody I hope can help you. Chassis221 is qualified to answer some or all of these questions. Very knowedgeable. Sorry I myself wasn't able to help you on this one.
