Default Cold Feet. Help!

Hey Guys, Whats up? I'm a newbie here and this is my first post. I just got a 2002 c230 and it's always blowing the ac out on the floor. No matter what the position of the switch, it still freezes my feet. I can here the air changing direction from center to top but my air stays wide open on the floor at all times, robbing the blast to my face which i love so much. So, how do i fix this? I think it's a stuck vent door or something but I don't know how to access it. So what do I do? Or can I just wear some warm pink floppy slippers?

Instead of a vacuum system the C class has 8-10 little motors that closeand open the different vents. I had the exact same one go bad. Mine was bad when I bought it, but I was lucky enough to notice it and the dealer agreed to fix it. They're about 80 dollars at arizonaautohaus but the probem is you have to do quite a bit of dis-assembly to get to it. When the dealers did it on warranty some of them went ahead and replaced them all at once. It probably takes a lot of know-how to do the dis-assembly and re-assembly. Good Luck

You might have to just fit some dense foam insulation in there. Then pull it out in the winter. But air comes out of so many places you might not even miss it. You might try some exploritory looking around by removing the lower panel and looking around. It's a pretty common problem, there must be somebody out there with a little experience dealing with it.

you need to have the foot well flap motors replaced....you might hear some clicking sounds when you first start the car?? OR the stepper motors/ flaps need to be syncronized at the dealer. very common problem

Yeah man, I hear the clicking when I start the car. I thought it was the tape player when I first got it but thenlater heardit was something deep in the dash. so the motors are bad if its clicking? I figured earlier if it was the motors clicking mabey a little plastic gear was stripped or something. 'Preciate it man. that helps alot!
