CLS350 - demist, turn off demister, AC comes on
Hi All,
Got an annoying problem that I can't find the answer to:
I turn on the 'max' button to demist my windscreen, it demists fine, but when I turn the 'max' button off to stop the demister, the AC comes on and starts churning out cold air. I sometimes miss/forget it does that, and end up swearing at my otherwise lovely car.
Anyone had the same issue and got to the bottom of it? I'm hoping it's actually a 'feature' to offset the blast of hot air inside the car where I can turn off that 'feature', any pointers massively appreciated, thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum - it's likely just a relay that's gone bad. Try to get the codes off the DTC read; that'll likely give you a place to start troubleshooting. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Hi mate, thanks for the welcome and reply - I'm a bit on the thick side, so what is a DTC read, and where/how do I get it?

No worries at all and forgive me for not checking my grammar in the original post . The DTC are the Diagnostic Trouble Codes or also known as engine fault codes. You would get these by plugging in a code reader/scanner into your OBD2 port. I'm not sure where you're located, but most auto part stores with a service dept can do this for you if you don't want to bring the car to the dealership's service dept. Please let us know if you have any questions!
