Default RE: CD Changer Installation

I know this is beating a dead horse but please forgive me...

I have a 1999 MB C230 Kompressor with CD button on car stereo unit.

Recently, I purchased a genuine factory MB Fiber Optic CD Changer. Part # A 203-820-90-89 and Model Number MC3110.

They say it installs in the trunk and is "plug and play" -- but so far, I can't find the plug ... to play! I am looking for the fiber optic cable (orange, I think) but I cannot find it. I do see an orange wire that runs from the Driver side to the Passenger side but it goes underneath the fiber board by the right rear wheel well. I've tugged on this wire but stopped for fearing of "breaking" it. Also, I don't see the "power" cord that goes along with it to know if these are the right wires. I don't know if this orange wire is the fiber cable or, if it even came with fiber cables!

Man, I know this is not "rocket science", but I have no CD instructions that say if this is the wire, or what or where to look... [:@]

Can someone please advise this ignorant fool?

Thanks in advance for your help!

If your C230 has never had the CD changer installed in it. Then you will find the connections on the same side as were the trunk pocket is located on the right. You then need to removed the panel to expose the orange fiber optic wire as well as the power cables. It will take some patience, be sure to be careful when removing you do not want to damage panel. And if you have not done so be sure to have your car programed to recognize the changer. I hope this helps.

Thank you!

I found the orange fiber optic cable. But.... I cannot find the power cable. Would you know what color the power cable is? I look on the right side and there are a lot of cables starting on that side, but I can't say that one of them is loose and has a connector at the end of it...

Thanks for your help!

It would have to be a trunk mount, but it could be done. Suggest contacting MB to see what modifications might be necessary, and also contacting a local stereo shop, to see what after market options are available.
