c280 power loss
1999 c280 v6
i have had the car for a year and it has run perfectly but twice recently the engine has experienced a worrying loss of power.
at 4500 revs aprox 75mph the engine loses power and dies. the engine will restart and run perfectly well for another 1500 miles. My independant has suggested taht it could be the valve body [?] whilst i have booked it in for a diagnostic to confirm this in a fortnight i would be interested to hear if anyone else has experienced anything similar.
thanks

RE: c280 power loss
Tour MAS could be going, I noticed a loss of power on my 99 C280 no stalling however, about 2 weeks later the check engine light came on and sure enough it was the MAS. First try this trick I learned a few weeks ago, disconnect the ground on your battery for 30 minutes then reconnect, that set the CPU back to default. Perhaps there is just a clich in the CPU? My car's no hold key start system worked after I did this reset.

RE: c280 power loss
I don't think a electrical fan would cause that kind of power loss, one other thing to check is the TB aka Throttle body, it could be clogged, try this product and see what happens it worked mircles on my 99 C280 http://www.autobahnpower.com/products.asp?recnumber=92
