C280 Oil Change & Plastic Cover

Is it true that under-body plastic cover has to be removed to access the drain plug?

Most dealer drain the enginer oil from the dipstick, this is an approved Mercedes Benz way. I have have a pumpt and canister I got from www.griotsgarage.com for around $70 with shipping. The filter is on top of the engine, total cost is a lot cheaper then the $120 or so I paid at Mercedes.

Correct -- Like C280 stated, it's easy, only a few bolts holding it in place.

The reason most dealers do it is because it takes less time, and time is money.

Personally, I would never siphon the oil out of anyone's vehicle. When I do an oil change it gives me the opportunity to check everything else while I'm down there.

That's just me though.
