2007 c280

Long story short....replaced alternator but failed to check that the cables were attached to the hood latch before closing the hood. Soooo hood stuck closed...

so so I was able to pop the passenger side by coming in from the wheel....but I cannot get the driver side. I can touch the latch but I cannot pop it. There seems to be a box or cover over the bottom of the latch. I can see it from underneath the car. The filler tube is in the way so I can’t see it from the side.

So can someone send me a picture of the underside of the driver side hood latch? Can I break the box open to pop the latch?

I was able to move the filler tube...still cannot see the latch. I think the box is the hood sensor maybe. I just need to know where the release for the latch is. Not one diagram I have even in the alldata site shows a good picture. And ideas?
